Within Me Meme!

My Weirdness Within Me Meme
I have been tagged by

[candle-by-night] (LadySnow) Melanie

and by [A Playful Yarn] Lisa for this Meme.

THE RULES: Each player of this game starts with the 6 weird things about you. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly.

In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says you are tagged in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

1. I absolutely will just pig out on fried chicken livers. Call me weird, but I love em'......... I will just about make myself sick over them. And an ocassional 1/2 pounder Hershey bar all in one sitting :)....ain't that sad, lol.

2. This may or may not be weird, but I am as bad as Monk when it comes to finger prints. On my sinks, the mirrors, frig door, you name it, seeing finger prints just get all over me.......I always have to get them off of whatever when I see them. Just can not stand to leave them on anything, even for a minute.

3. When I cook, I never use a recipe (maybe sometimes, but very seldom). I just hate to. I come nearer to whipping up something that taste a whole lot better........ so I just pitch the recipes and cook up things to suit my taste buds.

4. My coffee can best be discribed as a suicide. I use a big travel mug, one that holds two regular size cups of coffee in it. Yes, I like instant---------And First I put two teaspoons of coffee in, then one heaping teaspoon of hot chocolate cocoa mix, then 2 and 1/2 teaspoons of sugar. I top it all off with a goodly slug of milk........yup, weird but ooooh so good!

5. I prefer to be a stay at home Mom, literally! If I don't have to go into town, I don't. I use to live with the Old Order Mennonites and there was never much need to go to town.......I kind of got use to that.....hubby is so good to run errands and the cost of gas now adays makes one trip into town at a time a plenty.

6. When I was pregnant with my first Son, I got this weird craving (so everyone else said it was). It was around midnight, which isn't to bad for a pregnant woman in the department of her chances being good that someone may just go out and get it for her. All of a sudden these OH YEA, YUM alarms started going off in my head. Oyster Stew, yep, I had an overwheling urge to get some oyster stew at all cost. Hubby got dressed :) ......... and obliged me with two cans of stew and a box of crackers. Don't forget the pepsi

Okay Okay, so I am late as usual.....whatelse is new :)

So, I am going to tag:

Tara

Rita

Chris

Yasmin

Shelle

Hexe

Ok guys, you need to tag 6 people now. =-)

--KIDS AT RISK & OTHERS--IN NEED

CrochetManiacsForCharity
Just now getting started.

I got a request today from a lady in a near by city to see if my pony was still available (we had to give her up......landlord ). She would be enough but her and a colt would be a bit much here so I posted Ginger on our local freecycle. I got this e-mail from a lady that wanted Ginger (she was already gone at this point to her new home on a 25 acre farm)

The lady's e-mail to me inquiring about Ginger:

Re: **OFFER: Carousel Pony I would love to have this pony she would be great for my at risk kids riding program...do you have a phone number where I can call you. My name is cristy and i live in madisonville. We have 8 acres with a pond and is fenced.
thanks

I let her know that Ginger was already gone. I thought about what she had just written to me, about her at risk kids.

I wrote this back to her:

Let me ask you this. I have a crochet forum. The ladys do for charities along by making squares and sending them to one person that joins them together.......then they are donated to different places for kids, babys, elderly.....such as that who are in need, or just need a good hug along the way. Could you use such as this with the kids that come there to your place? I could maybe put something together and send it through you for them. Something for each age level. Let me know what you think
Kathy

She replied:

kathy, I am in madisonville, ky...I volunteer at two places. I volunteer at and assisted living facility and there are a few people there that I know of that could use a special gift of love just like that.. and also the shelter that I volunteer at were the kids that are in my program are would love to have some blankets all age groups, when some of these kids (and adults) leave their homes to come into shelter they have nothing. And something to hold onto would give them some security, something that was theirs..... I think that is a great idea. I dont know much about crocheting..but maybe i could come up there one weekend and you could show me how to do it. I could get into the act as well.
thanks and God Bless You for your thought.

I have never done this before, but have always wanted to, but here goes...I feel this stronge urging to do this that I have to follow it. I know it is coming from the Lord. This will be my first ever to put together something like this for the kids in need of a handmade hug......and from what (?>"*^) says, there are others here that so need our handmade gifts as well. I am going to put this together and get it all set up to start something for the kids, and then the others here. God's Hand I Feel Is Leading This Desire In Me To Do This. My son winning Ginger in a drawing at a fishing pay lake grand opening last spring. Us Getting to have and enjoy Ginger for a few months, to now finding this great need here right in my neck of the woods. It is so wonderful just how God works. Needing to find a new home for Ginger, lead these kids to finding us. I am going to pray on this and get something planned and set up here in a day or so with all of the perticulars and then I will post it here. I need your prayers for God's help in putting this together. It will be my first and I am not sure just how to begin. I know I need to get up some free patterns and yarn choice for the squares......and something for each age group......... my main need right now is to get this put together in a good organized fashion. Thanks for you prayers in advance, and any helpful tips and advice on how to's and such are so welcome. Thanks for reading this and I hope that maybe you guys can send a square or two now and again

I just got this from her in my e-mail now as I typed the above:

kathy, this is something that i do out of my barn. I have horses that I know the kids will be safe on and we just teach them proper horse care, and then when they have accomplished that we start them in riding lessons...in the round pen. After that another lady takes them that is more advanced when they deciede that the like english, western, jumping or show... and teaches them about showing, clothes, all that...I just have the beginning of the program started now. thanks cristy but with the blankets, you can do this for any shelter... there is a domestic violence shelter in your area.. they always need volunteers and they always need creative things that people can do to brighten the stress level of the people in the shelter.
thanks

My Appalachian Roots

This brings back some good old mountian memory's
of when I was just a youngin growing up in the hills of the Appalachians.
Every friday and saturday night we had front porch pickin and singin
and buck dancin.
How it sounded off through them hills was so beautiful.
This was (and still is) my all time favorite instrument
to hear being played.
The Mandolin
